The school tour docents at the Coachella Valley History Museum in Indio enjoyed showing your students the museum. Our school tour is set up for third graders. However, your children were very well prepared, attentive and interested in everything they saw at the museum which focuses on the history of the Coachella Valley. The students learned about the Cahuilla Native Americans, toured our blacksmith shop and sat in early 1900’s school desks in our 1909 Indio Public School. They spend time in our 1926 adobe house built by Dr. Smiley, one of Indio’s first doctors.

The museum is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday from 1:00am to 4:00pm. Come visit. I am sure your children will enjoy showing you the museum.

I cannot say enough good things about the Montessori of the Valley, Miss Elaine and the rest of the teaching and support staff.
Lucas has been at the Montessori since he was 3.5, he is now 5. Not only does he love going to school but is excited about the different programs that are offered.

Jay and I are so impressed with the all of the different curriculum that Lucas gets to be a part of and we especially like the fact that the Arts (music, physical art and singing/dancing) are part of what is offered at the Montessori.

We have discussed, on many occasions, how we wished that the Montessori went all the way through 12 grade!

Jay and I are very grateful for this option for Lucas' education and personal development. It is truly priceless.

Not all schools are alike!

My son began at the Montessori preschool 3 years ago. My husband and I were very impressed by how much he learned at the preschool level! Far from the basic preschool of sing song lessons and coloring with crayons!

Kindergarten was wonderful. Small class sizes for a very individualized and one on one environment. The teachers and staff are consistent and in sync when it comes to your children’s discipline and etiquette at school and beyond. The teachers are personable and work with the parents on growing their children to their optimal level. This School promotes individual discovery, reading, writing, music, the arts, Computer skills, life based skills, and so much more. My husband and I are very impressed and cannot wait for the 1st grade to begin!

Any school can teach your child to read, write and spell by age five but Montessori school also taps into your child's cognitive learning ability. This school is of the best schools in the desert. I had two children going there. They started at age 4 and by 5 years old they were doing phonics and encouraging them to read. Their math progress came naturally which is amazing because that is what Montessori schools tap into. Teacher-child ratio is small. Discipline, etiquette, manners are also important. They have dance, gymnastics, Spanish, art and theatre available. Parents and teachers are very close. Feels like a family! I highly recommend this school. We had to move and we were unable to continue with this school. My kids still attend a Montessori school in the "big city". I currently took my children to an elite private school and their entry evaluation results were above normal school level.
